First off, looking at the CD tracklist, this is a great selection of covers these crazy Canucks have chosen to interpret. What we get is high octane, edgy rockabilly music that takes the classics and updates the sound into the 21st century while respecting the original classics. This is hard rockin’ rockabilly music, not too dissimilar from Highway 13, that seems to be taken from a live set. But not to fear, this is a tight set that is very well recorded with all the instrument being crystal clear with perfect levels on the vocals. This band really knows how to play music that gets your interest, keeps it, and makes you want more. Of the covers they have chosen, my personal favorites are Joe Bennett & Sparkletones “Black Slacks”, Gene Vincent’s “Say Mama” and Johnny Burnette’s “Lonesome Train”. All of the songs here are energetic and fantastically arranged. This CD has been in my player for some time now and doesn’t see it leaving for some time to come. Highly recommended.
